No, I'm certainly never planning on homeschooling my kids. But after much thought yesterday (thank you Cassie for the time to actually go for a cup of tea, sit and read, and THINK!) I decided that part of the behavior problem around here lately has to do with not being engaged enough. And so this morning began a new attempt to work on academic, social, physical, and emotional development. Where to begin? Play dough, ofcourse! The boys gathered ingredients and cooked up a batch. We turned on some music and they sat and "worked" quietly for an hour. Perfect.
Post script: This entry should be titled "Oh, how we miss preschool."
Well miss you too!

This is so interesting to me. It makes me realize that, most days, we alternate between errands and free playtime. And while playtime is important, I guess I can't blame Ry for getting bored! You're such an amazing mom to come to this realization.
ReplyDeleteUm, please keep blogging these and then I can use them as my non-homeschool lesson plan. :)
