late october

Scenes and findings from our exploration walk.  The morning after this walk, every single flower was gone as a hard frost had come in during the night and put the 'finished' stamp on summer.  See those red berries?  They drip from the trees all over town, weighing their branches down in heavy, droopy arcs.  I'm told by the old timers (grandaddy and others!) that these particular red berry trees forecast a cold, snowy winter.  Our skis sit at the ready...

fall picnic walk

We have been using these beautiful fall days to explore all of the wonderful things to see and do in Bend.  This is Shevlin Park and Tumalo Creek.  These pictures are straight out of the camera, no edits...the aspen leaves really were this amazing and vibrant.

pumpkin patch installment #1

Grandpa Bob and Grandma Kelley joined us for our adventure at the Central Oregon Pumpkin Company at Smith Rock Ranch.  This beautiful ranch and pumpkin patch sits right at the base of Smith Rock in Terrebonne.  The scenery was unbeatable and the activities plentiful!
Watching in amazement at the pumpkin cannon.  Shooting pumpkins from giant air pressurized cannons at old junk cars at least two football field lengths away...who can get enough of that??!

Such a fun end to a fantastic grandparent visit!
