We set out looking for a family friendly hike in the woods. What we found was snow! As you can see from our inadequate shoe selection...we were not quite expecting it!

trick or treat
We had a great Halloween night and successful trick or treat session in Bend. This year we joined our friends the Bradbury's for a great party at their house. The party included two big bonfires in their driveway perfect for eating, drinking and socializing around. Next up was trick or treating through their neighborhood with about 15 of their friends' kids age 5 and under. This band of trick or treaters was quite a force to be reckoned with!
Our Roman soldier and knight in shining armor!
ugh, camera operator failure!
Side note. I really took awful photos this Halloween. The lighting was off, the camera struggled to focus, etc. I'm planning a little photo shoot in costumes so we can actually get something decent, but it is Nov. 16th and hasn't happened yet. Alas...

Look at that belly!
Hands down, the funniest thing about jack-o-lanters in Bend is that within 24 hours they are so dried up that they look like old men without dentures. Their poor faces sink in and the lids fall inside, it's a little sad! I meant to get a picture of our old men pumpkins, but it didn't happen.
