A warm welcome to the most chic room you've ever seen.
A lethal dessert. It tasted divine but also ruined Matt's shirt and tie (as in, they were left in the garbage can as we drove off). One gentle fork tap into this crisp pastry shell and the whole thing exploded morello cherry sauce into a some what embarrassing display on his chest resembling a horrific gun shot victim. But tasty!
Stewed apricots, apricot sorbet, merenge, brule pastry shell, wild strawberries, and pistacios. Amaze.
Really good fish dish with a most memorable smoked mashed potatoes. Yum.
Their on site mushroom growing glen.
A chef in the garden at dinner time. We sat outside one night and watched the chefs go across the lawns to the garden over and over to gather just enough greens for each salad ordered.
Espalier apples growing over every wall, arch, and gate. Gorgeous.
Enormous kitchen garden/farm to supply the restaurant and perhaps the entire town. Rows and rows of vegetables, fruit, greens, and herbs.
The whole estate was littered with bronze sculptures. One can only imagine the cost of a bronze scarecrow for your garden!
