I could write a long note here about my mom and how truly wonderful she is in every way. But it is super late and my eyes are tired from staring at the screen. I'll just say these few things. She is full of generosity, compassion, loyalty, duty, diligence, kindness, and an abounding love for her grandkids. Even though she doesn't live here, she knows my schedule and theirs, thinking about what is going on for them each day and calling to check in. This has been a busy season for her, full of not very fun tasks taking care of my ailing grandfather. It is what needs to be done, and so she is the one to do it. But we miss her. And it's been too long since we've seen her. And so, Mommy, I've spent the last week working on the blog. I'm not caught up yet, but these next 36 posts are for you. I love you.

gramma's birthday wish
We drove out to Richardson Rock Ranch to fulfill Gramma's long time wish of checking out this place for rock hounds. It was pretty outstanding! We came home with a ton of thunder eggs and a lot of good laughs.
new nephew
And then this little love was born! Add to my nephew collection the darling Deacon Michael Vandeventer. My little babe is no longer the littlest grandbabe. The two of us girls flew up to meet him for just a quick day.
Deacon's other grandmother Lynda took these two beautiful pictures. So sweet.
art show
Our Montessori preschool/kindergarten had their annual art and yoga show and Grandmere came to visit and see the show for the second year in a row. This year the boys were featured artists working with real artists and community leaders in Bend. Fritz was paired with Mytchell Mead (a metal and mixed wood artist-see photo below, all the work on the wall behind them is his) who is apparently pretty well known. Needless to say, Fritz' painting was one of the top fund raisers of the night and it did not come home with us!
