It had been a pretty slow year for snow in Bend and so it was that we decided to take a spontaneous trip to Park City, Utah. To chase the snow. And to have some family fun. We toured all the fun restaurants from German fondue to Cowboy saloons, skied new terrain and watched the Olympics. It was a total blast.
The few flakes that were falling as we left Bend turned into a record setting storm. PDX was closed due to snow and this extended our trip by two days. When I arrived home at MIDNIGHT (!!!) with the 3 kids by myself, our street was impassible and we had to climb over a 4 foot snow bank in front of our driveway created by the plows. All three babies were so exhausted from the travel they bawled their eyes out at highest volume while walking down our street in the middle of the night. And then I spent an hour shoveling out a path and picking Matt up after the taxi got stuck with all our stuff a block away. Chasing snow, ha.
